Second Year: A Broad Timeline

Of course you’ll have other things to organise as well as what is listed here (i.e. travel, applications and accommodation), but these will be relative to each student dependent on which languages they study. Nevertheless, I hope this serves to be a useful guide which will relieve some of that well-known Year Abroad prep. stress!

August

  • ERASMUS OLS Assessment (Tests competency in the language of first placement)

  • Student Finance England Course Abroad Form (you will receive this form from SFE)

September

  • ERASMUS Certificate of Arrival

  • Choose course modules at placement university

  • ERASMUS Learning Agreement (a.k.a. Form 2A)

October

  • ERASMUS grant instalment for first placement

November

  • Skype call with DELC

December

  • Exams at placement university

  • ERASMUS Certificate of Departure (If second placement is based at another university)

  • ERASMUS OLS Assessment (Tests progress in competency in the language of first placement)

January

  • Return to placement university (If attending the same university for both terms)

February

  • Re-apply for SFE (If applicable)

March

  • ERASMUS Certificate of Arrival (If second placement is based at another university)

  • Receive exam results from first placement institution (At latest)

April

  • ERASMUS OLS Assessment (Tests competency in the language of second placement)

  • Choose course modules at second placement university

  • ERASMUS Learning Agreement (a.k.a. Form 2A) – Second placement

  • Enrolment on DELC Third Year modules

May

  • DELC Coddington Year Abroad Photo Competition deadline

  • Exams at placement university (If term ends in May)

  • ERASMUS Certificate of Departure (If term ends in May)

  • ERASMUS OLS Assessment (Tests progress in competency in the language of placement if term ends in May)

June

  • ERASMUS grant instalment for second placement

July

  • DELC210 Project/s deadline

  • Exams at placement university (If term ends in July)

  • ERASMUS Certificate of Departure (If term ends in July)

  • ERASMUS OLS Assessment (Tests progress in competency in the language of placement if term ends in July)

  • Receive exam results from second placement institution
